Luton Town completed a hugely disappointing 2024-25 campaign with relegation to League One, a year in which no player was able to reach double figures in terms of goals.
It was the 13th time that has happened in the club’s history and to find out when that was, and who finished as the Hatters’ leading marksman during that season, see the gallery below.

9. 1974-75: Division One
The third of the trio to score seven goals for Town in Division One during the 1974-75 campaign, Jimmy Ryan bagged his tally from 31 appearances, four of them coming from the penalty spot, with successful spotkicks hitting the net against Coventry, Carlisle, Derby and Arsenal. 10. 1988-89: Division One
Northern Irish winger Kingsley Black scored nine goals in 37 matches for Town during the Division One campaign, starting off well, on target three times in his opening nine outings, also adding a double in the 4-1 victory over West Ham. Had another burst in the final few matches of the season, netting in the 3-0 over Derby and 5-2 crushing of Charlton Athletic, along with the 2-2 draw against Wimbledon. Photo: Hatters Heritage

11. 1988-89: Division One
Midfielder Danny Wilson was the second of two players who reached nine for the season, also doing it in 37 games as well. It was the final six games of the campaign when he became really prolific though, on target five times, with goals against Coventry, Derby and a brace in the 5-2 success over Charlton Athletic. Kept calm to net his most important goal on the final day though, converting a penalty in the 1-0 triumph versus Norwich City at Kenilworth Road that kept the Hatters in Division One. 12. 1993-94: Division One
With Luton in the new Division One, striker Kerry Dixon was able to score nine goals from his 29 outings, which included hitting the target in a terrific 2-1 success against Watford on the opening day. Did also manage a treble as Luton trashed Stoke City 6-2 during November but after hitting a brace against Peterborough in early April, didn't score again, as he missed the last four games of the season.
