Hatters fans hailed by Brabin

HATTERS boss Gary Brabin has hailed Luton’s supporters as Town close in on an away sell out for Sunday’s New Year’s Day game at struggling Kettering Town, writes Mark Wood.

Speaking at today press conference, he said: “That’s fantastic. A lot’s been said of the price issue, which I think is very unfair because it’s easy to do when you’ve got a loyal following like we have.

“Just to show they are turning up in numbers after that, I think it shows how genuine they are and it is fantastic support.

“The support for the last home game was absolutely unbelievable it was great that we had so many, and I was delighted we produced a performance like we did and good result. It was a fantastic atmosphere and we do need more of that and the players need to produce more of that to give the fans something to shout about and that’s the response we get.

“We all want that and that’s what we strive to aim for.”

But Brabin wasn’t counting his chickens ahead of facing the Poppies for a second time in a week.

He added: “Everyone’s talking about it at the moment, it is strange.

“You are always hit with some form of something that’s not in the norm throughout the season and this year’s it’s playing back-to-back games.

“I’m sure they’ve got a lot from the game last week and they will want to improve on that, so we’ve got to be on our full mettle.”
