To see how the Hatters rated during what was an emotional and downright wonderful afternoon at Wembley Stadium, see below.
5. Amari’i Bell: 8
With Town’s defence always having to be on their toes when City finally got going, they were able to marshal the threats of Gyokeres, and then Godden too, fairly well for the majority. Got back in the nick of time when Horvath’s clearance cannoned into Osho and despite the enormity of the occasion, was more than happy to collect the ball and set off through the Coventry press to get the Hatters moving. Fitness never an issue either as he looked strong in extra time. Photo: Liam Smith
6. Alfie Doughty: 7.5
Involved in the goal as his searching ball down the wing was taken up by Adebayo, the striker eventually finding Clark to do the rest. Went close himself too, an angled drive that was blocked and cleared off the line as Luton dominated the first 40. Influence waned as City got on top after the break, his cross cut out for the Sky Blues to burst away and equalise. Substituted for Onyedinma in the latter stages of normal time. Photo: Liam Smith
7. Marvelous Nakamba: 8
Midfielder was able to celebrate a Wembley win after losing the Carabao Cup final with parent club Villa on his last visit. Held the centre of the pitch well, particularly early on with Luton very much on top in the first period, constantly winning every second ball. Deeper role after the break with City then on top but he kept his tackle count high, ensuring Town’s back three weren’t often exposed. Calmly tucked home during the shoot-out too. Luton fans will be desperate to see him back too! Photo: Liam Smith
8. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 7.5
Had the odd chance to seal his history-making appearance with a goal, but both his efforts were routine stops for Wilson. Saw plenty of the ball with Luton on top in the first half, assuming the captain’s armband with Lockyer off too. Had to dig in after the break when the Sky Blues hit back, but like the rest of his team-mates, did so well. A true Hatters legend now having done what no-one else has ever managed, going from non-league to the Premier League! Photo: Liam Smith
