Luton got their Vertu Trophy campaign off to a fine start by beating League Two Barnet 4-1 at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.
Lasse Nordas, Jerry Yates, Cohen Bramall and Shayden Morris were all on target for the hosts and to find out how Town’s players rated, see below.

5. Kal Naismith: 7.5
Having dropped to the bench at Burton on Saturday, the club captain was restored to the starting line-up and got through 90 minutes with ease. Made sure Town kept things solid in the first half, although things were slightly trickier as their League Two opponents had the better of proceedings due to Luton's intensity lacking. Almost helped Town add to their tally in the opening period when his attempt deflected into the path of Wells who was unable to find the net. Photo: David Horn

6. Cohen Bramall: 8.5
Now almost at the end of his pre-season having joined late at the end of Town's preparations and showed some real good attacking signs on the left flank. Got forward well to slip a perfectly weighted pass through the visitors' defence to find Yates who was able to open his account for the club. Kept on taking up advanced positions to send in some dangerous crosses that his team-mates didn't quite gamble on. Involved in the moment of the night when he simply hammered a stunning free kick into the net via the underside of the bar for what was a quite brilliant first goal for the club. Got through 70 minutes as he should now be in serious consideration to start Town's league matches. Photo: David Horn

7. Liam Walsh: 7.5
One of six changes made by the Hatters on the night and anchored the midfield throughout the evening, always finding space to receive the ball from his defence and knit the play together well, particularly in the first half. Tried his luck from a free kick that flew into the wall, and then left the next one for Bramall to have a crack, which definitely proved to be the right call. The odd misplaced pass put Town under pressure after the break as Barnet improved, but still gave a committed display when trying to win possession back for the hosts. Photo: David Horn

8. Jake Richards: 8
First start for the club after his summer move from Exeter City and it was an excellent debut, especially in the opening 45 minutes as Town's undoubted extra class shone through. Very influential when the Hatters looked to attack, which was for the majority of the first half, as he saw a lot of the ball and was able to use it well, always trying to find an angle to get a shot off as well. Like the rest of his team-mates wasn't able to replicate his efforts after the break, but has still given Bloomfield real food for thought for the League One campaign now. Photo: David Horn
