Luton got their Vertu Trophy campaign off to a fine start by beating League Two Barnet 4-1 at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.
Lasse Nordas, Jerry Yates, Cohen Bramall and Shayden Morris were all on target for the hosts and to find out how Town’s players rated, see below.

9. Zack Nelson: 8
Started his second game in a row for the Hatters as he continues to get an extended chance under Bloomfield. Brilliant early pass inside a visiting defender allowed Kodua to speed away on the right and slide a cross in for Nordas to open the scoring. Showed some terrific skill of his own after that to impressively trick his way past two players, only to see his efforts at winning a penalty waved away. Slid another good ball through for Nordas who failed to make the most of it, while after the break, he demonstrated his influence in the final 10 minutes, some promising breaks into the box, before his clever pass sent Morris clear as the winger won a late penalty. 10. Jerry Yates: 8
Was a class act in the first half as he gave his opponents the run-around at times, especially in a first half that the Hatters dominated. Clearly wanted to get his first goal for the club as he saw an early effort from range bounce straight into the gloves of Evans. His pace saw him always able to play on the last line and get in behind the Bees back-line, as he got up and running by giving a taste of his finishing ability when freed by Bramall, sitting his marker down and curling into the bottom corner. Only slight frustration is that he should have had more, one blast parried away and then saw another inviting opportunity repelled by Evans' legs on the stroke of half time. Photo: David Horn

11. Lasse Nordas: 7.5
Starting a third game in the row as he is doing his utmost to remain a first team regular with Luton have now bolstered their strikeforce. Dragged back early on as he tried to break away, but then made it two in two, meeting Kodua's cross with a neat first time finish that went in off the post as he was on target for the first time at Kenilworth Road. Only real cause of concern was that he really should have had a hat-trick by half time, seeing one attempt shovelled away by Bees keeper Evans and then went clean through when freed by Nelson's pass, denied by the stopper once more when he had team-mates in better positions. 12. Shayden Morris (SUB): 8.5
Only on for 30 minutes, but it certainly was an eye-catching cameo from the winger who had officially joined from Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen on deadline day. Showed pretty quickly just why Luton had been so keen to bring him in during the window as he made his intentions clear, getting one v one against his marker and just knocking the ball past him to try and speed on to it. Did so once as he put an inviting cross in, before the second time he raced on to Nelson's pass, which led to him being tripped in the box, as he assumed responsibility for the penalty and confidently tucked his spotkick away.
