Luton ended an almost 50-year wait for victory at Preston North End on Saturday as they picked up a fine 1-0 victory. It looked like the spoils would be shared until late on when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's effort from Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu's cross was superbly saved by Daniel Iversen, only for the keeper to divert James Collins' follow-up over the line. To find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.
5. Kal Naismith: 8
Superb aerially on the day as he stood up to what was a fairly direct threat from the hosts with real authority for 90 minutes. Blocked a dangerous attempt from Sinclair too as he continues to prove an excellent transfer window acquisition.
6. Glen Rea: 7.5
Restored to the holding role and looked far more comfortable in that position, back to doing what he does best too, reading the play, getting in and among the opposition to win the ball back for the Hatters.
7. Ryan Tunnicliffe: 7
Got through plenty of legwork in the midfield as he tried to get beyond the front players when the odd chance arose. Tired a bit in the second period which was understandable following his recent efforts, but still put a decent shift in.
8. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 7.5
Didn’t have too many opportunities to display his range of passing throughout the game. Great run into the box to meet Mpanzu’s wonderful cross though as Iversen saved magnificently, before Collins got to the rebound.
