After breaking through the ranks, Boyce spent six years with the Hatters, helping Town win promotion to the old Division Two in 2001-02, before moving to Crystal Palace in July 2004. However, who would he select in his all-time best XI from players that pulled the Luton shirt on with him? The Luton News looks at just who made the final cut.
1. GK: Mark Ovendale
Fantastic shot-stopper who pulled off some really important saves. As a person he was a great man and will never be forgotten.
2. RB: Gavin McGowan
The attacking full back had a big influence on how I played my game. Always looking to get forward and creating chances. Quick, athletic and skilful.
3. FB: Matty Taylor
Super Matty Taylor who burst onto the first team scene with a bang. Could run all day long, scored, created and had a lethal left foot. Fantastic lad and another one who went on and had a magnificent career.
4. CB: Gary Doherty
Played against him from school boy football to professional level. Can play centre back and as a centre forward. Big, strong and dominant in both boxes.
