Luton chief Nathan Jones has warned fans not to expect on-loan Leeds United midfielder Eunan O’Kane to feature 'any time soon' for the Hatters.

The 30-year-old raised hopes of being able to play a part in the club’s Championship campaign when he had his first minutes since suffering a horrific leg break in September 2018 during the pre-season friendly wins over Berkhamsted and Stevenage.

However, O’Kane, 30, who is at Kenilworth Road for the season, hasn’t played since and didn’t make the squad for yesterday's 3-0 win at Northampton Town.

Asked about the Irish international's fitness, Jones said: “It’s a long process with Eunan so don’t be expecting Eunan to be playing any time soon.

"He’s come back from a long injury, he’s been out, he hasn’t played, so it’s not just the injury, it’s the time out.

"We’ve got to build him up and he’ll gather momentum, hopefully god willing the more he does stuff.

"But he’s a long, long way off, so I wouldn’t be looking at him for a while."
