LOAN WATCH: Angol cleans up at Wood awards

Hatters striker Lee Angol completed a superb season at Boreham Wood by picking up a host of honours at the club’s end of season awards.

After being named top goalscorer, Angol also picked up players player of the year, supporters player of the year along with the young player of the year gong too.

Meanwhile, Angol bagged his 25th goal of the season to ensure Wood will now be in the Conference South play-offs, as they ended their league campaign by winning 4-3 at Chelmsford City.

He curled a free kick into the net from 25 yards, as Luton team-mate Charlie Walker came on the final four minutes, replacing Junior Morais.

Wood will now face Havant & Waterlooville over two legs for place in the play-off final.

In Conference North, Danny Fitzsimons featured as Brackley Town ensured their safety with a 1-0 win over Hednesford.

Forward Ross Lafayette played 71 minutes for Welling as they lost 1-0 at home to Southport in the Vanarama Conference, but stayed up after Alfreton were hammered 7-0 by Bristol Rovers.

Jim Stevenson came on for the final 18 minutes as Aldershot ended their campaign with a 3-1 defeat at Grimsby Town.

Winger Kynan Isaac played for Banbury United, but their 1-0 defeat at Chesham United saw them relegated from the Southern League Premier Division.

Midfielder Charlie Smith also played as Dunstable Town drew 1-1 with Cambridge City.
