With just rounds of fixtures remaining of the 2019/20 Championship season, there are a number of significant matches taking place this week, but few come much bigger than Luton’s clash with Hull City.

The KCOM Stadium is the venue for the relegation battle. Three points for either side would push the other to the precipice of relegation.

The Hatters could really have done with holding on to their midweek lead over Queens Park Rangers given to them by James Collins from the spot. The draw however keeps them in touch with those teams above them.

They come into the match in higher spirits than their opponents who were shellacked 8-0 by Wigan Athletic during the week, their ninth in 11.

For that reason, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton is predicting a 2-0 away win which could lift Luton out of the relegation zone come the end of the weekend.

He said: “Is there any way back for Hull from that almighty thumping at Wigan in midweek? Grant McCann and his side looked bereft at full-time, but they will need to rally quickly because this is huge.

“Both of these sides are two adrift of safety and both really need a win. I don't think they will ship eight again, but I can't see Hull bouncing back. Luton here for me.”
