The 63-year-old has already experienced winning the Conference, leading Dagenham & Redbridge to the title back in 2006-07.

In Martin’s mind, that can only serve Town well this season as he said: “With the new manager, he’s been there, done it, knows how to get out of this league.

“That’s a big thing that we’ve got this year and haven’t had in previous years.

“We’ve got a manager who knows the players he needs to get out of the league and by the looks of things, he’s signed those players.

Still has made seven new signings so far, released 10 and put five on the transfer list as Martin knows it is going to be a newlook side that take to the field this season, while he is aware of the expectation placed on them by the Hatters supporters.
