New Town boss has no regrets over Torquay exit

NEW Town manager Paul Buckle has no regrets about leaving Torquay United when he did after losing the League Two play-off final to Stevenage last May, writes Mike Simmonds.

The Gulls were beaten 1-0 at Old Trafford and Buckle took over at Bristol Rovers just two days later.

He said: “I’ve no regrets whatsoever. I think I did Torquay the biggest favour as the second at Old Trafford when we lost, I sat down and if I can’t give it 110 per cent, I’m no good.

“I knew it was right to leave and I know what I left behind there, the foundations were set.

“I’m very proud of what I left behind there and it links in well with what I want to do at Luton Town now.”
