Harry Haslam's side headed to the Hawthorns needing just a point to go up, as they took the lead through Barry Butlin, before the Baggies levelled from the spot late on. However, Town had done enough to ensure they finished second behind Middlesbrough to reach Division One. Below, the Luton News takes a special look at just who took to the field for Luton that day.
1. Graham Horn
Keeper made 37 appearances keeping 10 clean sheets as he missed a handful of matches in October. Played 16 league games the following season as he moved on to American side Los Angeles Aztecs.
2. John Ryan
Started the season in the number eight shirt, before moving to full back in January, remaining in the team to play 31 times in total. Scored once as well, in a 3-1 win at Bristol City during September.
3. Bobby Thomson
Full back was one of just two players to start every league match that season for the Hatters. Managed one goal as well, as the Hatters held Portsmouth to a 3-3 draw on September 15.
4. Peter Anderson
