Hatters boss John Still revealed that Ryan Hall missed out on selection for Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient after turning up for the fixture late.

The 27-year-old who hasn’t featured in the last five games, was left out of the matchday squad once more.

When asked why both he and fellow wideman Danny Green weren’t included, Still said: “We felt if we played a diamond, we have the players to do it and we would be comfortable and we were.

“If I would have played a wide player the other night, I would have probably played Pelly (Ruddock Mpanzu). I had Josh (McQuoid) that can play wide as well and those are performing better in training at the moment.

“Maybe not so much with Ryan. Ryan possibly would have been involved the other day but he was late, so I picked the team.”

Many supporters and the manager himself felt that summer signing Green would be one of the first names on the teamsheet after joining from MK Dons in the summer.

However, the 27-year-old has made just a handful of fleeting appearances this term as Still simply added: ”He should be, but not at the moment though, no.”
