Still was more than happy to sell Angol to Posh

Luton Town boss John Still had no hesitation in selling striker Lee Angol to League One Peterborough once the forward turned down a new contract at Kenilworth Road.

The 20-year-old forward was snapped up by Hatters last summer after leaving Wycombe Wanderers and went on loan to Boreham Wood, where he finished as the Conference South top scorer.

Town had offered Angol a new deal which was rejected, as he then didn’t return to pre-season training and was snapped up by Posh on Monday for an undisclosed fee.

Still said: “We made an offer for Lee that he wasn’t interested in and once he wasn’t interested in doing it, we didn’t want him, simple as that.

“I think he trained with West Ham, Wolves, Crystal Palace and they didn’t show any interest.

“In a conversation with Peterborough, we didn’t have to go to a tribunal, they were happy to do a deal with us that we were happy with.

“Once Lee Angol didn’t want to be at Luton, Luton didn’t want Lee Angol, so everyone was happy.”
