The 29-year-old joined Hatters in March 2013, but made just 16 appearances in total, scoring two goals.

He spent time on loan at Aldershot last term and then Dover Athletic this season, where he is expected to complete a move to tomorrow.

Speaking at his press conference this afternoon, Town boss John Still said: “Solomon Taiwo is very, very close to sealing a permanent deal and I think that will happen tomorrow.

“I’m pretty sure he’s agreed a deal with Dover and it’s just a case of crossing t’s and dotting i’s.

“That will probably be done today and he’ll move to Dover where he had a good loan spell.”

Still later added on the club’s official website: “He might not have been involved as much as he would have wanted last season, but Solomon still paid a small but significant role in last season’s success - and that is something we should not forget.

“I’d personally like to thank Solomon for his professionalism and performances during his time with us and wish him all the best in his future career.”

Meanwhile, out of favour winger David Martin should also leave the club during the window, after returning from a loan spell at Bristol Rovers where he made 17 league appearances, his last coming back in November.

Still added: “Yes we will be (seeking a permanent move) and I’ll be speaking to Dave.

“There are one or two possible opportunities for that, so we’ll explore them next week.”
