The squad was made up of Alex Axford, Rahul Sheemar and Callum McGeorge as they won one and lost one.

Number one string Axford, 14, was the star of the day, winning both of his ties 3-0. His final match against the top string from Radlett was particularly impressive as it was the only game their team lost all day.

Second string Rahul Sheemer, 12, also gave an excellent account, although lost his first match 3-0 to Radlett’s second string, despite each game being close.

Sheemar also played well in his second gane against the second string from Berkhamsted and comfortably won 3-0.

Third string, Callum McGeorge, 11, also had an impressive day.

He lost his first match comprehensively 3-0 against a very strong opponent from Radlett, but more than made up for it in his second game against his Berkhamsted counterpart, winning 3-0.

Boss Danny McGeorge said: “Considering that this was the team’s first time of playing in the league, they did very well indeed, especially as most of our players still qualify for U13 level squash.”
