“The Luton Care Awards celebrate the amazing people and organisations that make adult social care in Luton so outstanding,” said Emma Lawrance, the registered manager at Little Bramingham Farm. “To be shortlisted as a Finalist for Team of the Year amongst such admired and well-regarded local companies and people is not only an honour, but a testament to the hard work, commitment, care and dedication the Little Bramingham Farm team deliver every day to each resident we care for and support at the home.”

The Luton Care Awards recognise the numerous people and companies who work tirelessly caring and supporting others throughout the town, albeit delivering direct care and support to those who need it, to the many who work behind the scenes.

“Little Bramingham Farm’s Outstanding CQC rating reflects the team’s consistent positive impact on residents, families, staff and the wider community,” continued Rachel Hill, chief executive at Little Bramingham Farm. “With many team members having worked at the care home for over 20 years, they have created a home where people live with dignity, independence and purpose, whilst maintaining the relationships and interests that matter to each individual resident.”

Little Bramingham Farm was awarded Care Home of the Year at the 2025 National Care Awards.

"Little Bramingham Farm really does have a true, family feel, and the care team and residents are one big happy family,” added Karen Charity, the activities coordinator at the care home. “Every day, each room and hallway is full of chatting, laughter and music, which is wonderful to be a part of.”

“Every member of the team at Little Bramingham Farm plays a role in creating this outstanding environment,” added Emma. “The dedicated carers, housekeepers, maintenance, kitchen team and managers all see our work as sharing life with residents rather than simply delivering care.”

The Little Bramingham Farm team has an unwavering promise to the residents which is to keep them part of and engaged with the local community. “We have a strong community connection which is central to our ethos. Schools, choirs and local groups are regular visitors, and residents are supported to attend local shops, parks and events,” continued Emma. “Susie’s Tea Room, located within the care home's beautiful gardens, is open to the public and has become a wonderful community hub, keeping the residents firmly at the heart of community life. Susie’s also plays a special role throughout the year, hosting seasonal events such as Santa’s Grotto, our Halloween celebrations, and the Easter Extravaganza. Families can also book the space for private functions and celebrations.”

“The residents love being involved in all the care home’s many community events, take part in a vast array of enjoyable activities which have positive impacts on their daily lives. Alongside the community events, activities range from reminiscing chats, arts and crafts sessions, birthday celebrations and weekly Beautician appointments to keep fit classes and visits from external community organisations and individuals such as Pets as Therapy dogs, entertainers, YAWN Life Group – a day service specifically for sociable young adults with learning difficulties who help with the gardening and intergenerational time with toddler group, Musical Bumps and visits from Lea Manor High School. We make sure there’s always something going on to motivate, engage and inspire each resident,” added Karen.

The Luton Care Awards 2026 ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 12 at Venue Central in Luton.
