Dunstable In Bloom win delights green-fingered care home residents
Garden-loving residents at a care home are celebrating after winning the award for best care home garden at this year’s Dunstable In Bloom event.

The team at Caddington Grove Care Home on London Road were thrilled as judges commended their creativity in designing the garden and the significant involvement of residents in helping it take shape.
During the past 12 months, residents have thoroughly enjoyed helping the team plant, tend and use the garden, including adding therapeutic sensory beds and seasonal displays.

Judges said: “Your garden this year was one of pure creativity and resident involvement.
“From the unique medicine trolley conversion to a garden trolley so all residents could become involved, to your sensory beds and the wicked scarecrow. Well done.
“We look forward to seeing your garden continue its transformation in the next 12 months.”
After a year of hard work and months of enjoyment in their outdoor space, the award win was the cherry on the cake for the happy horticulturists.

Home ambassador Louise Chilcott said: “We’re delighted that Caddington Grove has been awarded first place in the Best Care Home Garden category.
“Resident involvement has been at the heart of the garden’s transformation, and the team are delighted that this has been recognised.
“It’s a testament to the whole team – residents and colleagues – who’ve taken great pride in helping our gardens flourish. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to making our garden such a beautiful and welcoming space to enjoy.”
