Stopsley High School students collect fantastic GCSE results
“I could not be prouder of our students”
Stopsley High School students gathered this morning to celebrate GCSE Results Day 2026, marking the successful completion of their secondary education and the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance and hard work. The school, located on St Thomas’ Road and part of Middlesex Learning Trust, welcomed students and their families to join staff in recognising and celebrating their achievements.

There was a fantastic atmosphere across the school as Year 11 students arrived to collect their results, with nervous anticipation quickly turning into smiles, excitement and celebration. It was wonderful to see students sharing this important milestone with friends, families and staff as they reflected on their achievements and the journeys that have brought them to this moment.
The Class of 2026 have continued the school's impressive upward trajectory. This year's outcomes show further improvements across a range of key performance measures, including significant increases in both Attainment 8 and internal Progress scores.

There is more to celebrate in the outstanding improvements in students achieving both their English and mathematics GCSEs. The number of students achieving grades 5+ and 7+ in both subjects has increased again this year. These qualifications are vital for students' future education, training and employment opportunities, making this success particularly noteworthy.
Many students met and exceeded their individual targets, securing places at their preferred sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships and other post-16 destinations.

Karen Hand, headteacher at Stopsley High School, said: “Today is one of the most rewarding and emotional days of the school year, and I could not be prouder of our students. Seeing them open their results, celebrate with their friends and share such special moments with their families is a privilege for all of us. These results are a reflection not only of their academic achievements, but of the resilience, determination and courage they have shown throughout their journey. They have worked incredibly hard, overcome challenges and remained focused on their goals, and it is wonderful to see their efforts rewarded.”
“What makes today so special is that every student has their own story. Behind every set of results is a young person who has grown in confidence, developed new skills and overcome obstacles along the way. At Stopsley High School, we are proud to celebrate every achievement and every step of progress, recognising that success looks different for each individual. Our students should leave today knowing just how proud we are of them and all they have accomplished.”

“As they take their next steps into sixth form, college, apprenticeships and the world beyond school, they do so with bright futures ahead of them. They will always be part of the Stopsley family, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their communities and the success they will achieve in the years to come."
