Students joined thousands of young people across the country in collecting their results after months of hard work and revision.

There were plenty of reasons to celebrate as students reflected on their achievements and looked ahead with confidence to the opportunities that lie ahead.

Many students have made the grade to enter the school’s Sixth Form and will be progressing on to A-level and BTec study.

A few of the notable achievements at Queensbury are:

  • Ridhima Khurana who achieved six grade 9s and three grade 8s

  • Elizabeth Odeyemi who achieved four grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 7

  • Oliver Gafton who achieved four grade 9s, one grade 8, two grade 7s and two grade 6s

  • Oliwia Zadlo who achieved five grade 9s and four grade 8s

Headteacher of Queensbury Academy, Helen Palmer, said: "We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students today. Their GCSE results are a reflection of the hard work and positive attitude they have shown throughout their time with us.

“Our students have embraced challenges, worked hard and demonstrated a real determination to succeed and they should be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished.

“We wish them every happiness and success as they move on to the next stage of their journey, and we are confident they will continue to achieve great things in the future.”

David Hatchett, chief executive of Anthem Schools Trust, said: “Everyone at Queensbury should be incredibly proud of their results today.

“These young people have shown resilience, determination and ambition throughout their GCSE study, and it is wonderful to see them celebrating their achievements.

“I would like to thank our dedicated staff and families for the encouragement and support they have given our Year 11 students and I wish the students at Queensbury every success for the future.”
