Cadent to hold meeting over six weeks of Luton road closures
People in Luton have a chance to ask gas company, Cadent, about weeks of planned closures in the town at a public meeting this week.
Work is under way in London Road to replace 1,300 metres of old gas pipes, with this also affecting Whitehill Avenue, West Hill Road, Tennyson Road, Cutenhoe Road and Ludlow Avenue.

Part of London Road will be closed for six weeks from July 27 while Cadent works with Affinity Water. Traffic lights will be in place once the school holidays are over.
Cadent and Affinity Water will be at the entrance to Kidney Wood on Thursday (August 6) from 12pm to 2pm to talk to customers about the works.
People are told to follow the diversion routes and leave extra time for their journeys.
Cadent said: “If you smell gas, do not assume it is related to this work. Act immediately and call the national gas emergency service on 0800 111 999, day or night.”
