Blane leads South Beds A to victory

South Beds Golf Club retained the prestigious Leslie Randall Invitation Scratch Team Trophy at the Galley Hill course.

Fourteen teams competed for the 36-hole scratch team trophy from as far afield as Worthing, Mid Kent and Cambridge.

The South Beds A team of Blane Breheny (handicap +2), Andy Taylor (+1), Miguel Moitas (0) and Paul Kirkwood (0) retained the trophy with an aggregate score for the 36 holes of 439, with Dunstable Downs B in second on 453.

The individual trophy was won by Rob Sutton (+2) from Dunstable Downs A with a total of 145 from Breheney and Taylor, both on 147.

The handicap prize went to Jack McGregor (3) from Letchworth with a nett 144 on countback from 16-year-old Sam Flannery (3) from South Beds’ B team.
