Clean sweep for Crawley Green

Crawley Green completed a remarkable clean sweep when Crawley C took the Champion of Champions trophy from their club-mates Crawley A.

In the semi-finals Crawley C overcame ladies champions, Pat Howard’s Sundon Park. The contest went to the final match with John Leonard just getting the better of Linda McConnachie for a 4-3 victory.

In the other semi Crawley A defeated Richard Green’s Division Two champions St John’s.

The final produced a very close encounter with a pairs win for Rob Spicer and skipper Frank Abbott and singles victories for Richard Hough, Mike Webb and Abbott as Crawley Green A triumphed to ensure the cup remains at the club for another year.
