Harriman doesn’t rule out permanent Luton switch

The 22-year-old has made 16 appearances for the Hatters since his move from Loftus Road, opening his account in this afternoon’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Cambridge United.

His loan deal is up after Thursday’s League Two clash with Shrewsbury and although admitting he hadn’t spoken to Rangers boss Harry Redknapp, on whether he could join Luton full time, Harriman said: “I’d never rule anything out, never say never, we’ll just have to see what comes up.

“I’m not going to get involved behind the scenes, just focus on my playing and that’s it.

“I’d definitely like to stay. I’ve loved my time here and I’ll definitely be looking to stay longer but that’s for the gaffer to sort out and for me to sit back and focus on my football.

“I know the clubs are speaking at the moment so I’ll see what comes up.

“I’ve had a great time here so far. It’s been enjoyable and the fans have been brilliant.”

Although Town manager John Still is keen on making Harriman a permanent fixture to his squad, he could settle for a long-term loan as he said: “We’ll be speaking to QPR next week, so we’ll see where we lie with it.

“Worst ways, hopefully we’ll keep him until the end of the season, but he’s obviously a player that, if we could find a way, then we’ll try to find a way.”

Team-mate Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, who joined from West Ham last season, is hoping Luton can entice Harriman as he added: “I don’t mind Mike he’s all right, he’s young like me so hopefully he can settle down.

“It shows that we’re trying to bring in quality and Michael’s a quality player from QPR, so we’re pushing the team and the club on forward.”
