The hosts led through Alex Gilbey’s unbelievable attempt from range, before Town levelled in the second period through Jordan Clark, only to then concede a penalty that Aaron Collins netted. To find out how the Hatters rated on the day, see below.

Operated as Town's left back as Wilshere went with the same defensive line-up that started against Wycombe a week ago, and did well in preventing the Dons creating that many opportunities, as bar the odd occasion after the break when he was dribbled past, stopped the home side's attackers in enjoying a great deal of joy on his flank. Once the hosts dropped into a low block having moved ahead and then retaken the lead, was afforded plenty of space to get forward, particularly in the second period, as although he created the most opportunities, with three, including one that Marshall had to bury, conceded himself that his delivery wasn't quite as good as it could have been. With Luton looking to stay on the front foot in the first half, he had to do so much better when coming out to get close to Gilbey, allowing the midfielder to simply nip around him with ease and then break the deadlock courtesy of an unbelievable strike from distance. Not a game where he was at his best, the Dons duo of Gilbey and Wintle displaying the kind of aggression that Town lack in the centre of the pitch, as although he completed the most passes, it's hard to think of any that split open the hosts' defence or led to a goalscoring opportunity. Randomly and unexpectedly, won all three of his aerial duels on the day. Photo: Jane Russell

Despite creating the joint most chances on the afternoon for Luton and also taking the most shots, he wasn't quite having his best afternoon out there, as saw a few efforts from range deflected and didn’t ever really look like testing the keeper. However, he did demonstrate the Hatters' only moment of real quality with 20 minutes left as his touch let Mendel's pass run across his body and was clinical on his left foot, firing past Dennis for what was his first league goal of the campaign. Could have a big role behind the scenes now in trying to rally his team-mates ahead of Barnsley's visit in midweek. Photo: Jane Russell

Saw lots of the ball in the first half and was picked out by the Hatters time and time again, particularly from Luton's short corner routine, but only once did he ever really deliver a decent cross, Johnston unable to turn it in, the rest of them wasteful. Freed by a good ball upfield in the second period, he once more demonstrated a great touch to bring it out of the sky, but having got the better of Silvera, didn't have the confidence to shoot, instead overhitting his pass to Marshall. Did pick out Clark for the equaliser, but frustratingly cut inside on his left foot on too many occasions when going on the outside of his opponent would have given him something else to think about.
