Luton Town were knocked out of the FA Cup at the third round stage after suffering a 2-1 defeat to rivals Cambridge United on Saturday.

The hosts were in front after 27 minutes when Mark Tyler brought down Ryan Donaldson in the area to concede a penalty.

Although Tyler then magnificently saved Robbie Simpson’s effort, the rebound hit the post and cannoned back to the Cambridge player who made no mistake.

Donaldson made it 2-0 in the second period and despite on-loan QPR defender Michael Harriman pulling one back with his first goal for the club, Luton couldn’t force a replay.
