O’Donnell extends stay at Gateshead

Hatters midfielder JJ O’Donnell has extended his loan move at Skrill Premier rivals Gateshead until the end of the season, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 22-year-old has made two appearances for the Heed since joining earlier this month, but had always hoped to prolong his deal.

Speaking to the News/Gazette recently, O’Donnell said: “If I’m here for the rest of the season and can get Gateshead promoted, it will put me in great stead to come back as I’d love to be playing my football at Luton.”

On the news itself, O’Donnell also tweeted: “Pleased to be staying on loan at Gateshead for the rest of the season! Hopefully a successful 3-4 months in the North-East.”
