GOLF: Sutton earns his best finish on Tour
Dunstable Downs GC player Robert Sutton, a rookie professional, secured his best finish on the Europro Tour so far this year when he came joint 16th place at Astbury Hall GC, Shropshire last week.
Sutton shot scores of 69, 68 and 67 for a total of 204 (six under par), which was joint equal with former European Tour player Paul Broadhurst.
He said: “It’s a pretty steep learning curve playing with the more established professional players on this tour but I’m enjoying the challenge and picking up some valuable lessons along the way.”
Sutton now has a couple of busy weeks as he plays the next stages of the Europro Tour at Cumberwell Park GC on June 18-20 and Frilford Heath on June 25-27.
